"Πως όμως άρχισαν όλα; Για μένα όπως και για πολλούς άλλους με τις φωτιές του Δεκέμβρη πριν δέκα χρόνια, φωτιές που δεν έκαψαν τόσο όσο φώτισαν. Ακόμα και μέρα μεσημέρι, μπροστά στην κατειλημμένη Λυρική όταν διακόπτοντας την κυκλοφορία βγήκαν οι χορεύτριες πετώντας πάνω απ’ τα θαμπωμένα κεφάλια μας καθηλωμένα στα πεζοδρόμια για να μας δείξουν τον δρόμο. Ήταν άραγε δυνατό; Δεν πήγαινε μπροστά ή πίσω αλλά πάνω. Από εκείνη την πανέμορφη ρωγμή που μας γέμισε χαρά κι ανάταση δεν κατέρρευσε βέβαια ο καπιταλισμός αλλά τρύπωσαν οι νέες πιθανότητες, εκφράσεις ακόμα μισοδιατυπωμένες ενός διαφορετικού τρόπου να ζεις και να ελπίζεις. Τις σήκωσε ο αέρας και τις πήγε παντού όπου ταξίδευαν οι σπίθες από τις φωτιές ανάβοντας καινούργιες, πολλές και μικρότερες, μαζεύοντας τριγύρω τον κόσμο που συναντήθηκε γιατί χρειαζόταν το φως και τη ζεστασιά και δεν ήξερε καν πως τόσον καιρό ζούσε στο παγωμένο σκοτάδι με διαλείμματα μόνο χάρη στις γαλάζιες ριπές μιας οθόνης"

I am sitting with some friends in this cafe drinking coffee served by young refugees from Bosnia. The war rages across the newspapers and through the ruined streets of Sarajevo.
Tania said, “Your clothes are on back to front and inside out.” Since there were only two of us here I took them off and put them right then and there. I am always here before the doors open.
What need of so much news from abroad while all that concerns either life or death is all transacting and at work within me?
I step off the kerb and a cyclist nearly knocks me down. Flying in from the dark he nearly parted my hair.
I step into a blue funk.
The doctor in St Bartholomew’s Hospital thought he could detect lesions in my retina – the pupils dilated with belladonna – the torch shone into them with a terrible blinding light.
Look left
Look down
Look up
Look right.
Blue flashes in my eyes.
Blue Bottle Buzzing
Lazy days
The sky blue butterfly
Sways on a cornflower
Lost in the warmth
Of the blue heat haze
Singing the blues
Quiet and slowly
Blue of my heart
Blue of my dreams
Slow blue love
Of delphinium days.
Blue is the universal love in which man bathes – it is the terrestrial paradise.

Our name will be forgotten
In time
No one will remember our work
Our life will pass like the traces of a cloud
And be scattered like
Mist that is chased by the
Rays of the sun

Διαφορετικός από τους άλλους (Anders als die Andern)
Σπάνια pro-gay γερμανική ταινία του 1919 σκηνοθετημένη από τον Αυστριακό Richard Oswald σε σενάριο του ίδιου και του γνωστότερου Γερμανού γιατρού και σεξολόγου Magnus Hirschfeld. Θεωρούνταν χαμένη για χρόνια αλλά βρέθηκαν αποσπάσματά της και (ξανα)προβλήθηκε αποκαταστημένη κατά το δυνατό για πρώτη φορά το 2012.
Χτες προβλήθηκε στην Ταινιοθήκη στο πλαίσιο του 10ου Φεστιβάλ Πρωτοποριακού Κινηματογράφου που παρόλη τη διαφήμιση, μάζεψε λίγο κόσμο και είχε ακόμα χειρότερη οργάνωση.

Το Καζίνο στο Ελληνικό: "Καρυάτιδες" à-la-Safdie
Η «Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment» σε συνεργασία με την ΓΕΚ ΤΕΡΝΑ, παρουσίασε την Τρίτη 8/10 το INSPIRE Athens, την ιδέα «για το πρώτο ολοκληρωμένο τουριστικό συγκρότημα με καζίνο (Integrated Resort and Casino - IRC) στην Ελλάδα».
Με αφορμή την αισθητική της «ιδέας» αυτής, ο Νίκος Μπελαβίλας έκανε το εξής σχόλιο:
Το νέο καζίνο του Ελληνικού. Μία σύνθεση εμπνευσμένη από τις Καρυάτιδες. Να είστε σίγουροι ότι αυτό που μας συμβαίνει θα διδάσκεται στο μέλλον στις αρχιτεκτονικές σχολές, όπως οι αρχαιοελληνικές γιορτές του Παττακού στο Καλλιμάρμαρο, ο "πύργος του Άιφελ" στα Φιλιατρά και το "Τάμα του Έθνους" στο Γαλάτσι. Υπομονή!
